I’ve finally gotten to the point where I’m ready to start working on painting some of the rooms in my house and I’m stuck. At first I was taken aback by how expensive paint was, but now that I can afford to buy some, my new challenge is picking colors.

I tried looking at various websites and decorating shows, but that got me nowhere. There are just too many options out there. At the advice of a friend I just stopped by the local big box home center and picked up some paint samples. There are about 63285 shades of light brown, which is what I initially thought I wanted.

Looking at the samples in my house has me even more undecided and I haven’t even gotten to carpet and window treatments yet. Any tips? All of the sites I’ve looked into had such vague advice it really didn’t help at all.
